Steampunk Aviator Cap - The Captain by ShoriAmeshiko Steampunk Aviator Cap - The Captain by ShoriAmeshiko

:star: For sale on my Etsy store:star:

This is a style of hat that I've been wanting to do for AGES. It started with me doing a fleece version to get my feet wet Steampunk Critter Hats by ShoriAmeshiko
It was inspired by kind of a steampunk Catwoman kind of notion -- I think in an alternate history her headgear would most definitely be an aviator cap with cat ears.

The idea just evolved from there, becoming a suedecloth cap (because while I like leather, I like suede even more, and suedecloth is washable) with minky lining (because minky is amazingly soft), and painted side panels so I could introduce more design elements to the whole deal. I also tried out different colors for variety and fun -- I've always thought steampunk can be loads of different colors if you play it off with the right motifs and design elements.

This one features silver wing motifs painted on each side. The outside is a bright, almost peacock blue suede with white minky lining. This particular combination of blue and white seemed like a nod to Captain America -- hence the name.
